| 'Caspian
Sea Monsters' (as they all became known but which only applied to one type
in reality) are amongst the most fantastic 'flying Boats' ever devised.
Known as W.I.G.'s (Wing:In:Ground-effect) these
highly futuristic craft were variously developed by Russia as ultimate water-borne
attack, transport and assault craft in the event of war. I have always been
fascinated by them and their story of development but I never thought I
would get to see a walk-round! Twenty years ago you would have been
arrested for getting this close, let alone doing a photographic
walk-round! How times have changed. However, Sergey Kuznetsov from Russia
has kindly sent this, the combat missile attack craft variant, and the A-90 Orlyonok
walk-round to SEAWINGS. Both
craft are now grounded and sitting at Kaspisk, as can be seen by
