This might well be a replica, but it is a very good one. A genuine 'floater' but not a flyer, this Viking replica was built - albeit with a planked hull instead of the original sheet plywood one - in the early 1970's by Fairey Marine Ltd at Hamble for the film 'The People that Time Forgot'. It was acquired by the Brooklands Museum in 1987 where it was restored and is on display today. Courtesy of the Curator of Aviation - Julian Temple and his team, SEAWINGS was granted full access to this lovely craft to bring you the images here. Many thanks to the team at Brooklands for looking after her so well. Click here to visit their web site. Better still, pay them a visit - it's fascinating! |
