Supermarine Walrus Mk.I - L2301
g
Supermarine Walrus amphibian - serial number L2301 - is on display at the Fleet Air Arm Museum, RNAS Yeovilton, England and is one of only three remaining examples world-wide, the other two being at the RAF Museum, Hendon, London and the RAAF Museum, Australia.

The very interesting aspect of this particular one is that it has its wings folded, as if hangared on-board ship which allows for a much closer walk-round of the airframe and a really close look at the wing folding mechanism which is of great use to scale modelers.

The images presented in this gallery represent the most comprehensive walk-round collection of Walrus L2301 and should prove invaluable to scale modelers and enthusiasts.

Should anyone gain full access to the interior at any time, please consider sending them into SEAWINGS for inclusion here.

The superb images below have been kindly donated to SEAWINGS by our correspondent Ronnie Olsthoorn who obviously has managed to gain access to the cockpit and all that detail on display. My grateful thanks go to Ronnie for his time and trouble.

More superb walk-round images of L2301 which will repay careful study for scale modelers in particular.

As you might guess, if I travel down anywhere near the Fleet Air Arm Museum I cannot resist another visit (!) to see my favourite Walrus and take just a few more detail images to add to this Gallery, and here you go then......Grateful thanks to the ever-helpful Museum Staff who allowed me to 'cross the line' and put the camera inside it. One day perhaps, I can actually gain entry and see the rest of her.....
