SEAWINGS
is pleased to bring
you these competitively priced finished oil paintings and a bespoke commission

English artist Alan Vernon, priced to suit your pocket. |

Alan
Vernon: Based in
Hertfordshire, England, Alan has successfully painted most subjects;
trains, ships, planes, cars, dogs, cats, landscapes, seascapes - but when
he combines a number of these elements - and his love of flying boats - the results
are great for us enthusiasts! He has displayed
his paintings in various galleries and has donated to an American Museum
and been featured in
both the UK Press and in American Publications. |

A
RECENT EXAMPLE OF ONE OF
ALAN'S FLYING
BOAT COMMISSIONS via SEAWINGS |
|
'SHORT
SUNDERLAND 'G-AGES' TAKE OFF
A VERY SPECIAL STORY IN OILS
|
|
 |
 |
This
commission was the result of an e-mail enquiry to SEAWINGS and a
telephone call to Alan: Katie Allitt's (now Price) Father was the pilot of
the civilian Short Sunderland MkIII coded 'G-AGES'
during WWII. Tragically, the flying boat crashed killing all
on-board and Katie never had any pictures of her Father's craft.
However, after researching the subject, Alan produced this superb
example of his work and, when finished Katie collected it from
him. She say's in her subsequent letter; |
|
" I just wanted to express my delight
to you about your absolutely beautiful picture of Dad's aeroplane.
She is now up on my wall in-front of me as I type and is the most
wonderful sight to behold. You have produced a truly wonderful
picture and I shall treasure it always. Bringing home your lovely
picture of G-AGES felt as if I was bringing home some part of him
and his life. So, from the bottom of my heart thank you" |
