Short SA.6 Sealand I "IN106" Indian Navy |
g |
If
ever there was a shortage of decent museum exhibits, the Short
Sealand must rank 'up there' as being one of the most hard-done-by
examples.
As far as I'm aware only three specimens survive, one in Northern Ireland in pieces but protected for restoration one-day, one on outside display at Belgrade Airport Aviation Museum in an 'ok' condition as far as I can tell, and the other one is this one; "IN106" on display at the Indian Naval Aviation Museum, which is a military museum located in Bogmalo, 6 km from Vasco da Gama, Goa, India. She is in a bit of a 'state' but at least the airframe still survives.! Our long-term travelling correspondent, Victor Khmelik visited the museum and shot these lovely images and very kindly granted permission to show them here. Grateful thanks, Victor.
