This particular gallery completes our Russian correspondent and excellent photographer, Igor Kolokolov's look around N.A.S. Pensacola, Florida's Catalina exhibits. This is BuNo. 08317 which was built in 1943 and is on loan from the Smithsonian collection. It is believed to be the only intact PBY-5 (Flying Boat - not Amphibian) remaining. And, what a superb 'boat this one is, just look at all that detail in the images made all the more interesting by the method of display. Just for once, I appreciate an aircraft hanging from the ceiling giving us views of the hull, wings and general lines that we would otherwise never see. Our grateful thanks goes to Igor, as ever.
