Grumman HU-16E Albatross 'Red Bull'

It is a fantastic feeling when out-of-the-blue you get a chance to visit an aircraft museum that you've never heard of before AND even better when it contains a perfect specimen of a Grumman HU-16E Albatross on display...! Well, that happened to me when I visited the State of Tennessee, USA, recently and while there found out that the Tennessee Museum of Aviation was right on the way back to the local airport where I was departing from. My driver very kindly offered to take me there on the way and what a treat I had in store.

This museum is World-Class, a 'must-see' experience that encompasses all realms and ages of flight, but is in-of-itself so well cared for and looked after.

Note also that I managed to get some detailed close-ups of a new engine for the Albatross due to be fitted at some point in the future.

I took the opportunity to shoot this 147 image walk-round and enjoyed every minute spent there. If you are ever close, pay it a visit - it's well worth it..!

Grateful thanks to all at the Tennessee Museum of Aviation; click here to view their website
